The recently announced Hugo Awards for best science fiction named Among Others by Jo Walton best novel for 2012. The description from Amazon reads:

Third (and final) "Hobbit" movie to be released July 2014: Hobbits everywhere rejoice.

The third movie in Peter Jackson's book-to-screen version of "The Hobbit" now has an official release date according to Variety. The new film, titled "The Hobbit: The Desolation of Smaug", will be released in theaters on July 14, 2014.

The first installment, "The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey", will be released on December 14, 2012 followed by "The Hobbit: There and Back Again" to be released on July 5, 2013. Judging by the past films, that's at least six hours of Hobbit-time.

I can't wait to see Gandalf back in action in December; however, the real highlight will be Smaug in the second and/or third installment.

Diss-Possession: "The Possession" gets 36% on Rotten Tomatoes

"The Possession", dubbed the Jewish Exorcist, open in theaters today to mixed reviews. Rotten Tomatoes gives it a 36% rating from critics, but an 84% rating from the audience. If you haven't heard of it, I'm sure you've seen the trailer with the fingers in the back of a girl's throat. Terrifying stuff -- it looks intensely scary so watch at your own risk.
